Fear-Free Certified Doggy Day Care

Fear Free Doggy Day Care and Home Boarding is now available for dogs in the Redhill, Reigate, and Horley area of East Surrey.

Doggy Day Care and Home Boarding has the potential to be stressful for many dogs, but pet owners need not fear if their dog visits Amity Pet Care. That’s because they are part of an impactful initiative known as Fear Free, which is designed to ease the fear, anxiety, and stress (also known as FAS) so many pets experience while at Doggy Day Care or Boarding.

Fear Free’s Boarding and Day Care certification program teaches professionals how to utilise positive training methods to ensure that the boarding and daycare experience is as enjoyable as possible for every pet, every time

Laura says "I adore the whole Fear Free ethos, and have found great value in the extensive Day Care and Boarding course, as well as the ongoing education I have carried out, as part of my annual requirements. I have always worked in a kind, humane way with animals, but the Fear Free certification programme has given me additional tools to use within my work, as well as assessing my knowledge."

Founded by Dr. Marty Becker and developed by hundreds of experts in behaviour, medicine, and handling, Fear Free® offers online and in-person education to veterinary professionals, the pet professional community, animal rescue staff and volunteers, and pet owners. Fear Free provides both professionals and pet lovers alike with the knowledge and tools to look after a pet’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

“Providing pet professionals with the tools they need to ease this burden of fear and anxiety for pets is the pinnacle of my decades-long veterinary career,” said Dr. Becker, who was dubbed “America’s Veterinarian” by Dr. Oz and appeared on Good Morning America for 17 years.

“Pet professionals are hungry for this information. Animals and their humans need and deserve it.”To become certified, boarding and daycare professionals are required to complete a comprehensive educational course and exam. They also have to take continuing education to remain certified.

A final word from Laura: "The Fear Free Day Care programme has helped us work in a thoughtful and considered way, as well as how we set our environment up, manage introductions and daily interactions, avoiding over-exuberance, and support shy or anxious dogs."
