Fear-Free Certified Doggy Day Care
Amity Pet Care provide Fear Free Doggy Day Care for dogs in the Redhill, Reigate, and Horley area.
Doggy Day Care & Home Boarding has the potential to be stressful for many dogs, but dog owners need not fear when their dog visits Amity Pet Care! That’s because we are part of an impactful initiative known as Fear Free, which is designed to ease the fear, anxiety, and stress (known as 'FAS') so many dogs experience.
Fear Free’s Boarding & Day Care certification program teaches dog professionals how to utilise positive training methods to ensure that the dog day care experience is as enjoyable as possible for every dog, every time.

Laura says: "I adore the Fear Free ethos, and have found great value in the extensive Day Care & Boarding certification course, as well as the ongoing education and professional development I have carried out, as part of my annual requirements. I have always worked in a kind, humane way with animals, but the Fear Free programme has given me additional tools to use within my work."
Temperament Assessments
We carry out a detailed Temperament Assessment to ensure every dog is a suitable match for our environment, and with other attending dogs.
Rest Times
We implement adequate rest times for the dogs, allowing them to replenish and recoup from their adventures, and each dog has access to a quiet room.
Small Number Of Dogs
We accept a very small number of dogs, with a ratio of 3:1 of dogs to staff members, allowing for individualised care, attention, and monitoring.
Founded by Dr. Marty Becker and developed by experts in behaviour, medicine, and handling, Fear Free offers education to the pet professional community, providing the knowledge and tools to look after a pet’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
“Providing pet professionals with the tools they need to ease this burden of fear & anxiety for pets is the pinnacle of my decades-long veterinary career,” said Dr. Becker.

A final word from Laura: "The Fear Free Dog Day Care & Boarding programme has helped us work in a thoughtful and considered way, as well as think how we set our environment up, manage introductions and daily interactions, avoid over-exuberance, support shy or anxious dogs, and vitally avoiding FAS (fear, anxiety, and stress) for the lovely dogs who join us each week!"
