Joining the Amity Family
Every dog is unique, and we believe they deserve the very best start.
Rather than expecting dogs to settle into a completely new environment overnight, we take the time to get to know every dog individually. Our step-by-step welcome process helps build confidence, create positive associations and ensure we're the right fit for one another before regular care begins.
"I didn’t want an overcrowded situation. I didn’t want my dogs to be left unsupervised. I wanted the people running the daycare to be animal lovers rather than in it for the money." — Charlotte, owner of Cooper & Edie
Unlike many larger dog day care providers, we don't simply introduce dogs into an existing group and hope for the best. Our carefully planned welcome process allows us to get to know every dog as an individual, helping them build confidence, friendships and positive experiences from day one.
“The process was very thorough, you took the time to get to know Dempsey and us as a family to ensure it was a successful transition.” - Teresa & Dempsey

Initial Enquiry
Complete our online enquiry form to tell us about you, your dog, and the services you're interested in.
Compatibility Call
We'll carefully review your enquiry before arranging an initial telephone call to discuss your dog's needs, our services, compatibility, and current availability. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions.
"On my first initial call from Laura I was immediately put at ease" - Olive's Mum

03
Portal Registration
If we feel Amity Pet Care is likely to be the right fit, we'll invite you to register your dog on our secure online client portal, where you'll complete your dog's profile and upload any required documentation.
“Lots of information was needed but that was reassuring.” - Teresa & Dempsey
Home Consultation
We'll visit you and your dog at home to get to know one another in a familiar environment.
During this visit we'll discuss your dog's routine, personality, health and behaviour, and begin our handling assessment to ensure your dog is comfortable with us carrying out routine care, welfare checks and emergency first aid if ever required.
"The enrolment process was easy. The home consultation – both them at ours and us able to visit them as well." – Alison

05
Garden Familiarisation Visit
Before meeting our regular daycare dogs, we'll invite your dog to visit our secure garden during a quiet evening.
This allows them to explore at their own pace, become familiar with the environment, and get to know us without the excitement of other dogs being present.
"The way you allowed her to go at her own pace was really great." - Kate & Bowie
First Trial Day
Your dog's first day is carefully planned.
We'll introduce them gradually to their new friends, monitor their confidence, play style and interactions, and continue assessing how they settle into our small group environment.
There's no pressure - we allow every dog to progress at the pace that's right for them.

06

07
Trial Period
Every dog settles at their own pace, and that's perfectly okay.
Most dogs complete a trial period of 2–6 weeks, allowing us to support them as they build confidence, friendships and routine.
Throughout this time we'll continue assessing their wellbeing, behaviour and suitability within our carefully managed groups, making adjustments wherever needed to help them succeed.
Welcome to the Amity Family!
Once your dog has settled and successfully completed their trial period, they'll become a full member of the Amity family.
From then on, they'll enjoy the trusted carers, friendships, adventures, enrichment and familiar routines that make Amity Pet Care so special.
🐾 We can't wait to welcome you both!
"She is now very excited to be collected by Luke in the morning – as demonstrated by her excited wee at every pick up – without fail!" - Olive's Mum

08
Our Promise
Every stage of our welcome process is designed with your dog's welfare in mind. Whilst most dogs settle beautifully into our environment, we carefully assess every dog to ensure our services are the right fit for them, our existing dogs, and our team. If, at any stage, we feel another arrangement would better meet your dog's needs, we'll always discuss this openly and honestly with you.
