Lola's Story
Why Lola's family chose Amity
As first-time dog owners, Alison and her family wanted somewhere they could trust to care for Lola, giving them confidence to go on holiday knowing she would be safe, happy and loved.
They were particularly looking for a home-from-home environment, with small, carefully managed groups where Lola would receive individual attention rather than simply being one of many dogs.

Bowie's Story
From a Nervous Puppy to a Confident Day Care Regular
Finding the right environment for Bowie
When Kate and her family first started looking for dog day care, they wanted to make sure Bowie was getting the right balance of exercise, enrichment and companionship while they were at work.
Having already experienced a larger daycare environment, they knew that Bowie needed something different. As a young puppy who was naturally nervous, their priority was finding somewhere smaller, calmer and more supportive.
“We wanted to make sure it was going to be a smaller environment with greater knowledge of each individual dog and their needs.”
For Kate, finding a place where Bowie could be understood as an individual was essential.
“We knew straight away that Luke and Laura would understand Bowie the moment they met her at around 6 months old.”

Bowie was a nervous young dog, so building trust at her own pace was incredibly important.
Rather than expecting her to immediately fit into a busy environment, the focus was on helping her feel comfortable, safe and confident.
“The way you allowed her to go at her own pace was really great.”

Kate describes how much she has changed since those early days:
“She was incredibly hard work when she was younger and definitely tested our patience on more than one occasion! However, she is now the bestest girl, is happy to chill and relax at home, whereas before she was always on the go.”
While Bowie will always have her own unique personality and things that worry her, Kate feels the support and understanding she has received has made a huge difference.
“Whilst we know she will always have her quirks, her dislikes/fears and things which make her react, we are able to manage these so much better now and I think a lot of that is down to the care she receives at Amity.”
More than just exercise
For Bowie, day care is about much more than simply getting tired.
She enjoys spending time with her doggy friends, exploring new activities, using different enrichment equipment, and receiving plenty of interaction and affection.
“I think that she is mentally and physically stimulated on her daycare days, which she loves, she gets to try new things, use the different equipment you have and of course, getting a fuss from both of you.”
The balance of fun, learning and relaxation helps Bowie enjoy her days at Amity while continuing to build confidence.

Cooper & Edie's Story
Why Their Family Chose Amity
Charlotte wanted Cooper and Edie to enjoy regular socialisation, independence and a familiar
routine that would continue when her work circumstances changed. Finding a small, carefully
managed environment where they would always be supervised by people who genuinely love
dogs was incredibly important.
"I didn't want an overcrowded situation. I didn't want my dogs to be left unsupervised.
I wanted the people running the daycare to be animal lovers rather than in it for the
money."

Connie's Story
From first-time nerves to complete peace of mind
Connie joined Amity Pet Care over four years ago when Gabriella returned to working in the office one day a week. Having never left Connie before, finding someone she could trust was incredibly important.

Looking for the right fit
When Olive's family moved from London, they knew exactly what they were looking for.
Olive had always attended a home-based daycare, and as a Miniature Dachshund, she thrived in a calm environment rather than one filled with large, boisterous dogs.
They wanted somewhere that felt like an extension of home.
"We wanted to make sure we found a home-from-home daycare, and specifically one that wasn't dominated by large rowdy dogs."

"This suits Olive, as she is a small breed and can get quite overwhelmed when surrounded by lots of rowdy dogs."

Dempsey's Story: Six Years of Trust
Finding the right start for a new puppy
When Teresa and her family welcomed Dempsey into their lives, they wanted to make sure they gave their new puppy the very best start. With busy jobs, they knew they needed support to make sure Dempsey was happy, well cared for and never left alone for too long.
“We wanted to make sure we did everything right to ensure our puppy / dog had the best possible life.”
But choosing someone to care for their puppy came with plenty of concerns.
Dempsey would also be spending time around children, so it was important to find people who understood canine behaviour and could support his training and socialisation in a positive way.
“There was always the trust issue with knowing he was going to someone we didn’t know.”
When Teresa first met Luke and Laura, those worries began to disappear.
“I loved how they interacted with Dempsey. He loved both Luke and Laura from the start and I felt very safe in knowing they would support with training.”
The home visit reinforced that feeling, and Dempsey soon began building a relationship with the Amity team.
A thoughtful introduction

“You took the time to get to know Dempsey and us as a family to ensure it was a successful transition.”

Dempsey has now been part of the Amity family for six years.
It's difficult for his family to remember exactly what he was like before he met Luke and Laura, but one thing is certain:
“Being part of Amity has only been a positive influence on him.”
Over the years, Luke and Laura have worked alongside his family on different aspects of his training and development, including his socialisation walks and off-lead training.
“You’ve always worked alongside us when we have wanted to focus on specific aspects of his training.”
That ongoing understanding has meant that Dempsey's care could evolve as he did.
More than just a dog service provider
For Dempsey, the relationship with Luke and Laura has always been about much more than the service itself.
“Luke and Laura!! He just loves them, always has.”
After six years, that relationship has become something much deeper than simply enjoying time with a familiar dog care provider.
“They are an extension of his family and he feels safe and happy when he is with them.”
And Dempsey certainly knows how to show his appreciation.
“He actively seeks out long cuddles with Luke and smothers him in kisses when he gets the chance!”
